About Ranthambore National Park
Ranthambore National Park covers 392 sq km, including Mansingh and Kaila Devi Sanctuaries. It is one of the best locations in India to see tigers in their natural habitat. Tigers can often be spotted during daytime while hunting or caring for cubs.
The park features dry deciduous forests, open grasslands, rocky outcrops, and lakes, attracting wildlife enthusiasts and photographers. It is located in Sawai Madhopur district, Rajasthan, and forms part of a larger 1,334 sq. km tiger reserve.
History & Establishment
- 1955: Declared a Wildlife Sanctuary
- 1973: Selected as one of the first Project Tiger reserves in India
